General Description - Completion of this 40-hour, 5-day STCW Leadership and Managerial Skills Course satisfies the Coast Guard training requirements of 46 CFR, Standards of training, and Certification of Watch keeping (STCW) Code as amended Section A-11/ and A-111/2. 

Students gain knowledge and leadership ability in the areas of group dynamics, strategic planning and coordination, resource management, briefing and debriefing skills, in addition to effective communication in the maritime domain. The student will also gain a working knowledge of on-board administrative and personnel techniques, shipboard operations, drills and training, maintenance and dry-docking management as well as knowledge on various rules and regulations applying to the maritime community.
