2-DAY - RADAR REFRESHER & RECERTIFICATION - $360

 

General Description - This 2-day course includes a brief review of the material covered in the 5-day Radar Observer (Unlimited) course and a practical assessment of radar operation and plotting skills.  This course satisfies the requirements of 46 CFR 11.480 for renewal of any Radar Observer endorsement.  This course is intended for mariners that are required to have a Radar Observer endorsement on their license but who do not operate in an area that provides the activity to keep their radar skills current.

 

Course Topics Include:

     

    RADAR REFRESHER

     

  • Foundations of Radar
  • Range, bearing, course and speed of other ships
  • Identify CPA & TCPA of other vessels
  • Plotting techniques

    RADAR RECERTIFICATION

     

  • Practical assessment of operation
  • Plotting examination
